Broadspectrum and Cadagua have secured their first contract win after signing a formal agreement to pursue work together for complex water and wastewater treatment assets in Australia and New Zealand using an end-to-end integrated solution model. The $13 million contract with Water Corporation WA involves the design and construction of an energy recovery facility, including a HV transformer and HV supply system, at the Beenyup Waste Water Treatment Plant in Perth, Western Australia.
The project involves upgrading the treatment plant to recover biogas to send to a power generation plant by removing hydrogen sulphide, water and siloxane. The facility is expected to be operational in April 2019, with the contract including a one-year operations and maintenance phase and the option for a further five-year operations and maintenance extension.
As one of Australia’s leaders in the water market, Broadspectrum provides asset improvement and facility maintenance services to an array of customers, including SA Water, Gippsland Water, Water Corporation, Queensland Urban Utilities and South East Water in Australia, and Watercare and Far North District Council in New Zealand. Also, Cadagua’s customer base extends through Europe, America and the Middle East, providing design, process engineering, construction and operation services to complex water, wastewater, and advanced water treatment and desalination plants.
