Collaboration with the MIT
Cadagua, via an agreement signed by Ferrovial with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), collaborates with this entity in research projects which provide great added value to our installations.
Specifically, Cadagua and the MIT explore the following projects:
- Carbon footprint evaluation and sustainability analysis in the wastewater treatment plant selection process (Carbon Footprint Determination in WWTPs).
- Real carbon footprint evaluation in a WWTP, determining the GHG generation mechanisms in the treatment of wastewater, together with the impact of these emissions on the environment, in order to evaluate the sustainability of the different options to be considered when designing a wastewater treatment plant.
The development of a tool for electric optimisation of seawater desalination plants (SWDP Optimisation Tool).
- The development of a tool for the correct selection of equipment, from the electrical performance point of view, during the design stage of a plant for seawater desalination by means of RO technology, the purpose being to define the most adequate solution.
