Cadagua exposes the results of his experience in the sanitization of dehydrated sludge through lime addition (CaO) to achieve the objectives of the 4th Draft Directive 86/278/CEE, on the protection of the environment, and in particular of the soil, when sewage sludge is used in agriculture.
The objective of the European LIFE research project, which was launched in September 2015 and is currently in its final phase, extended until June 2019, is to promote a circular economy model applied to the joint management of farm slurry and the sludge produced in the WWTPs of small and medium size
Beneficiaries of the European project LIFE STO3RE, composed by ESAMUR (Regional Board for Sanitation and Purification of Water of the Region of Murcia), FACSA, AINIA, CEBAS-CSIC (State Agency-Higher Council of Scientific Research), and IPROMA, have participated in a conference to present the latest innovations in anaerobic digestion and the management of sludge produced in the WWTPs.
Cadagua has presented a paper on the installation to lime addition for sludge sanitation that Cadagua has designed and built, which being managed since 2.017 in the WWTP of Fuente Álamo for ESAMUR.
The meeting was held at the Center for Edaphology and Applied Biology of Segura, State Agency – Higher Council for Scientific Research (CEBAS-CSIC), the headquarters in Murcia.
