The seawater desalination plant of Granadilla de Abona services a population of 56,000 people and increases the irrigation resources for farming in the area.

In its first phase it generates 14,000 cubic meters a day, which can be increased to 21,000.

This SDP includes seawater catchment using 6 63 meter deep wells dug near the coastline, a product water tank, a pumping station, piping, discharge piping systems and product water transport up to the header tank of 10,000 cubic meters.
