The Bens WWTP treats waster waters from the municipalities of A Coruña, Cambre, Culledero, Arteixo and Oleiros, with the aim of complying with EU directives on water quality.
It is one of the largest sanitation works carried out in Galicia. It has a pre-treatment facility that can manage 6.7 m3/s and a secondary treatment system of 2.3 m3/s. It treats the waters of an equivalent population of about 600,000 inhabitants. After construction of the plant,
Cadagua also took on responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the facilities.
