The Ribadesella WWTP is designed to treat an average flow in peak periods of 7,560 m³/day, and in low periods of 3,960 m³/d.

It has an advanced biological oxidation process aerated by turbines with a maximum treatment capacity of 11,520 m³/day.

The treated water passes through a disinfection system of ultraviolet ligth before being discharged into the river.
