The Villaperez WWTP forms part of the sanitation system of the catchment area of the river Nora in the Central Area of Asturias and treats the discharges of the towns of Oviedo, Siero, Noreña and Llanera.

This Cadagua project was a pioneering venture in 1998 because it included an advanced and versatile nitrogen and phosphorus removal process in the plant design, along with energy recovery and thermal drying of the digested sludge.
