The IWWTP started operating in March 2009, with an operational agreement with Cobega, S. and the aim is to comply with the discharge requirements established by legislation in force and by the characteristic contents of the discharges.

Treatment consists of an anerobic biological process, via a UASB/BIOPAQ digestor, and biogas collection system that reduces the organic matter, and flash aeration that removes septicity and reduces Sulphur.
